activity descriptions..same or rewrite?

reapplicants, are you using the same descriptions for your extracurricular on the amcas? i have 7-8 extracurriculars that are hte same as last cycle. if i use the same descriptions...my apps looks like an exact copy of last year.

I think its fine if the descriptions of a few of your ECs are exactly the same. I mean, if they're activities or accomplishments from the past, how much can they have changed? You probably want to make sure that your PS is updated. You want to show some evidence that your application is new and improved, either through your PS or through a few new ECs or new LORs.

I applied AMCAS '03, and I still am using many of the same activities for this cycle. I did go back and rewrite the activity descriptions though, as well as added about 8 new ones since.
Just my 2 cents.

I happened to get a number of scholarships in my Master's Program, plus I have a different job now, 2 other volunteer experiences, made the Dean's List my final semester in college (finally), and went to a few conferences that are in the area I will be doing my masters project in. So, 8 more. I really didn't have that many the last time I applied. Remember though, quantity does not necessarily equal quality. I listed the 8 new ones because they were important to me. I am sure your 6 are outstanding. 🙂 🙂 🙂
