jojo here 🙂
Starting January 1st, 2007 there are new rules for NDBE 1, they are :
1. no more paper based exams
2. same 400 questions, but it will be intermingled
3. 80 % from 400 will be multiple choice
4. 20 % from 400 will be interdisciplinary linked to a testlet
5. no more 4 individual scores than an average, it will be ONLY one score,
pass/fail will be determined only by this one score
6. if you FAIL, you'll have retake the entire 400 questions (the entire exam,
no more partial exam)
7. 2 new subjects will be included in the new format :
PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
PATIENT MANAGEMENT
8. if you fail 3 consecutive times, you'll have to wait 12 months for reexamination (otherwise every 3 months[3 times])

I hope I was helpful.
Any questions, please feel free to confirm it by calling ADA>

Hey Jojo: Thanks for the info...I can see They are making it more and more complicated..... 🙁
Just to be sure that I understood, You will be able to take the exam 3 times a year instead of only 2 (under current rules), right?

Hey
Is the format changing for part 2 too??????or is it only for part 1???part 2 already dosent have any individual subjects....so is it gonna be the same??

hey...

wat does pt. management and ethics include.... do i hav to study more?

Thanks for the info...where can we get review materials for the 2 new subjects (Professional Ethics and Patient Management)? Anyone have info about this 2 new additional subjects for NBDE I, please let me know.

So its better to have 3 exam dates than just 2 in a year 🙂
