Any F-1 Students Match Into Specialty Programs? (Peds-Interested!)

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if there are any international applicants (F-1 visa holders) who matched into a pediatric dentistry program?

I’m currently a dental student on an F-1 visa in a 4-year DDS program at a U.S.-accredited dental school (not foreign-trained), and I’ve been having a hard time figuring out whether it's even possible to match into peds while on an F-1. I am really passionate about peds, and I'd really love to connect with anyone who’s been in a similar situation and successfully matched!

If you’ve been in this boat (an F-1 student matching into any dental specialty) or know someone who has, I’d really love to hear your story, advice, or anything you’re willing to share. Even just knowing it’s possible would be super encouraging!

For Canadian F1 students it has been commonly done. Oftentimes done through the TN-visa. Not sure what it would be like for other F1 students.
