I was wondering for those of you who have taken the DAT and also took that little sample test in the ADA registration booklet.. are they similar? I would figure they would be since they were made by the same people. Also I would imagine that the sample test is much easier. But are they similar and is that booklet practice test closest to the real thing?

Thanks

is there a website where u can find these ada sample dats?
There's just a couple sample questions on their website, but the sample test I'm referring to is in the actual registration booklet.

Yeah the ADA booklet is excellent practice, but its just one test so I would recommend getting Kaplan for the sciences and Barrons for the PAT. As far as I recall, the ADA practice test asks questions just like the actual DAT, unlike Kaplan which has Bio and Chem questions which are quite a bit harder than the ones on the DAT. Get lots of practice and you'll do fine. Good Luck.

That's great because when i took the ADA practice test I did very well, while doing average on the other practices I come across. I think I missed like 2 questions in orgo and a handful in PAT. Woot! 👍

Iceman, I totally feel you b/c it's like that with me, too. I'm hoping and praying that the real thing would be closer to the ADA sample DAT. 😀

I have the same question, how do you get the ADA booklet?

I think if you have registered with ada online to take the DAT you can call them and ask them to mail you test preparation materials. Just note that the test that they give you is pretty easy and is not a very good representation of the types of questions you will get on the real computerized DAT(from my experience).

That's odd, I found the difficulty of the ADA practice test to be very similar to the actual DAT, at least for the science portion.

does this test come with the online registration for the dat. they said they would send me something in the mail. if not, anyone have a website link where i can purchase the test?

Ok just to get some last minute confidence... from all those that have taken the little ADA practice test: would you say the difficulty of it compares to the real thing? I just looked over it again, and I feel very confident with ADA practice test, but not so confident after getting my first topscore results? Would anyone/everyone concur?

i don't know, but could you tell me where i can get the ada practice test from? i just recieved my ada mail - but no pracyice test - just a number to call

Ok this is what I'm trying to find out. So would you say its much easier than the real thing or have you even taken the practice test?

Your signiture is junk. And also a ridiculous confidence booster. - jk!

Thanks, IcemanDDS - but that's the same page I visited. I actually did not know where to go from there. I've allready scheduled a date to take my DAT, and I think it's only available through a paper application - I'm just a little confused. Could you guide me further...?

Thanks again!

I haven't taken the real test yet but I know that I won't be able to get 100% for SNS (and some 30s). That's just impossible.

I took the DAT and I think the ADA science section is similar to what you can espect. The others are debatable, but PAT on the real deal is definitely harder.
