Do you guys know if this test is indicative of the real thing? I posted this in the DAT forum but not that many replies. I gat an aa-20 and PAT-18. How wolud this score translate to the DAT? Thanks.

Not to be a pessimist, but the ADA sample test is ridiculously easy compared to the real thing ---ESPECIALLY--- the PAT section. The PAT in the packet vs. the actual test is like following the dotted lines on a kindergarten cutout vs. following complicated engineering blueprints. Honestly, there is no comparison.

Don't be lulled into a false sense of security by that packet. It is merely meant as an example of the types of things that you will see. The real thing will be much, much more difficult. You need Kaplan and TopScore. Their sample tests are much more realistic. (Except for the PAT, still much tougher on the real thing 🙁 )

You're gonna do great, though! 🙂

They should take that exam out of the packet, or replace it with a new one.

We had a similar thread on the same topic just a month ago.

"Ridiculosly easy" doesn't even really do justice to that practice exam. I took it cold and only missed a handful of questions on the entire thing. I think my score was a 28 overall. This isn't terribly unusual, and I think several people who post here as regulars have done just as well if not better on that exam.

That exam is good for showing the format, but not for content. Don't use this exam in any way to gauge your studying OR what you already know. It's fun to use the questions as a reminder of certain principles, but the depth just isn't there.
