I am looking at the two released exams 1985 and 1990. I suggest you contact Testing Services at the ADA
Contact Information
Department of Testing Services
Telephone: 800-232-2162

and ask them if it is worth it. You may get a copy for free. Ask them if this person selling them has the actual exams and the rights to sell them to you even if they are actual exams.

Beware of ebay stuff etc. that is not legitimate to sell. You will likely get ripped off and have no recourse.

the ones you do have.. are they helpful?

They were ok. One comes from the sample test book the ADA provides with the application booklet (free!!). Like I said, many "claims" of actual tests and charging you $100 for something they get for free, I have a problem with. They are stealing copyright and ripping you off...so what's new about ebay and others...

Thanks guys.. I passed on the offer. .. that money can go farther buying topscore and other materials

What's the big deal about TopScore? And if it is as good as people say it is, then where can I purchase a copy? Barnes and Noble, or anyother bookstore in my area don't even carry it, so it is made by a private company or something?

Thanks!

the only place I know that sells it is amazon.com.

I found the ADA sample test to be a fairly close approximation of the real DAT. I beleive the PAT was similiar to the actual PAT including the increased difficulty of angle ranking. The RC section was abridged as was the QR section, but the NS was a full length 90 minute 100 question exam like the natural science section on the DAT. I would recommend trying it if you can get a hold of one.

I took the Kaplan course and would make a few reccomendations.

The classroom is pointless. If you are motivated enough to study on your own with the Review Notes, from Kaplan, you should be more than fine. and if I am correct if you purchase the online course it has the entire lessons on file to listen to anyways.

The practice online subject test and full lenghts are steller for learning how to apply your knowledge in a test format. The tests are more difficult than the actuall DAT but help in the learning process. So when the DAT comes around you will be like, "wow, much easier than what I have been studying"

good luck

This is very true. Waste of time and money for the classroom sessions, but the practice subject tests will kick your butt and make the actual thing seem easier... I hope.
