Hi gang,

I graduated dental school in 2012 and have been a practicing dentist for 4 years. I'm currently in the process of applying to the OMFS programs. I took my national board before they went pass/fail, and I have my scores available. Do I need to still take the ADAT? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm a dentist and have been practicing for 4 years and currently wanting to apply to a 6 year OMFS program. I took NBDE I and II when it was pass/fail so I don't have a score. I'm planning to take the CBSE in August and see where I stand. How different is the application process for a dentist vs a dental student? If there is an OMFS who applied to the program as a practicing dentist for a few years, please chime in? TIA.

On PASS some schools say that a pass/fail score excludes the need for the CBSE, but the majority don't mention it so I assume they want it. To be honest I would take it and try to crush it, because a good CBSE score can help overlook the "downside" of being 4 years out of school instead of a fresh graduate which seems to be the preferred candidate structure.
