So, I indicated an IA on my application that I am 99% confident will be inconsequential in any decision making towards final admissions (fined for having a cat in university housing....). However, I am curious if my application will be thrown to the bottom of any pile automatically by software or manual screening just because of having an IA indicated? And if so, how are these reviewed? How does that work in terms of shooting for early interview dates etc.? Thank you for any feedback on this neurotic question...

IA's go through a different preliminary screening process (human) at my school. It doesn't hold them up at all, though.

This is the realm of my wily old Admissions Dean. We do not use anything automated, though.

At one time my school had a subcommittee that reviewed these and it did delay interview invites a little bit. Then with a new dean of admissions it became the sole responsibility of the dean to review and decide whether to advance to further review or not. This did not delay interview invites. It is going to vary with every school and can very from one year to the next for any specific school.

Is it a similar process for misdemeanors?
