My friend and I interviewed for the same school, decisions should be out soon. I've emailed the woman in charge with questions/updates about a week and a half ago, and haven't received a response.

My friend sent her an email with some questions on Wednesday and received a response Friday! What does this mean? Could it be possible that I've already been rejected and he's been accepted, which is why she cares about his email more?

Or it was the first email she saw in her inbox and responded to it...

Adcoms are people. People forget about e-mails. Add in the fact that they probably get a hundred e-mails a day, yours probably got lost in the mix.

student affairs offices across the country will be preparing for/ dealing with match related issues around this time, so I don't think their behavior is a good indication of anything at this point.

In other words...

Try calling them. I had a similar thing happen (no response for almost 2 weeks) so I called and there was no problem (actually got good news).

It's possible your email got lost in other update emails and other work emails. Why don't you reply to your sent email? So, s/he can see that you sent an email before.

She probably had hundreds of emails and your email got buried in the mix.
