With the increased popularity of ChatGPT, I've been hearing lots of people talk about med school adcoms starting to use AI detectors on applications. Out of curiosity, I ran my personal statement (original work) through GPT Zero and it said that my essay was almost 80% AI written. I'm a reapplicant and I worked really hard on my PS and got multiple people to edit it, so this is really concerning for me. How much consideration do you think ADCOMs place on these AI detectors? Should I attempt to rewrite my essay this close to submission?

I just ran my Openstax psychology textbook thru it and GPTZ said it was almost entirely AI-written. So don't worry too much. I will say, however, that this sounds more like a style issue than an authenticity issue for you. Maybe your prose sounds academic and dry?
