I'm going for rads. I'm a IMG/FMG (US born). I've put in a lot of prelim apps in my home state of Texas but have only heard from 2 programs (2 rejections, one a bit nasty).

I've also applied to a spattering in other sites. But really only hearing either that spots are full or just rejections.

I've been patient in waiting to hear about Rads, but wondering if the lack of feedback for prelims is concerning. Researching a few places it feels like many programs match FMG/IMGs for cat. spots and the prelims go to american students.

General question for all. I'm currently applying to both rads and prelim med and have been invited to seven prelim interviews but no rads. My question is if I don't get any rads interview does this mean I have to withdraw from the match or can I still rank my prelim programs? At this point, I'm looking to scramble. Thanks for your help.

I don't have an answer to the OP, but I do know that you can rank the prelim programs even if you don't get any interviews for the advanced program you are going for (in your case rads, but could be anything). What will happen is you will get an email on black monday informing you that you have:
A. Failed to match in any program
B. Matched in a prelim year only (I believe they won't tell you which one)

Your options if you match in a prelim year only would be to try to scramble into another advanced program or try reapplying next year for whatever you want. What you CAN'T do is scramble into a categorical program (you are required to complete the prelim year you matched into). That is something to keep in mind if you would consider doing another specialty if you don't match in rads

But you can scramble to PGY 2 positions for 2008 that are unfilled after 2007 march match. Things like Neurology, PM&R, Radiology, Anesthesiology, ER and Nuc Medicine.

If I were you, I would try contacting the programs at this point. Due to the lack of response (depending on how many apps you sent), it's always possible there was something technical that may gone wrong (ie. computer glitch in downloading your app). Worth a shot.
