I’m an Ohio resident looking to potentially apply to a few more schools. Thus far, I’ve applied to OSU, Case, MWU-AZ, MWU-IL, Boston, Temple, NYU, and Louisville. Suggestions?

Stats:
Overall: 3.32
BCP: 3.19 😕

AA: 21
TS: 21
PAT: 19

~200 service hours & a slew of other extracurriculars

If you want a safety school maybe you could add one of the new ones? (Leecom and Roseman) Their inaugural class is prob going to be easier to get into. Although you have to decide if you really WANT to go to a brand new school.

Any more suggestions if I don't WANT to go to a brand new school in nowheresville?

Then go to predents and look at oos friendly schools (usually private and expensive). Otherwise check out the ADEA Guide to Dental schools and see which ones match your stats well, and are located somewhere as opposed to nowhere.

I'm a current dental student at Roseman (inaugural class). You should definitely apply here with your stats! I think you'll have a good chance of getting an interview. Your stats are nearly identical to mine...3.31 overall, 3.12 sci, TS 21, AA 19, PAT 19.

And our school is not "in the middle of nowhere". lol To be honest, that's what I was expecting too, but it's quite nice out here in Utah! South Jordan is actually a very nice place to live! I moved up here from Dallas so it is a little different. Plus our program is unlike any other out there right now, which is beneficial to us since we're not dying with work! It is busy, just not CRAZY like some of my other friends at different schools.

Anyways, just thought I'd give you a heads up. If you have any questions, we (Roseman students) have made a Facebook group for all new Roseman applicants. You are welcome to join it and ask us questions. There are no administrators on the group, just us current D1 students. Search "Roseman University DMD Applicants".

Good luck!
