Are you sure it is not too late for the deadline of the schools you want to add?
To answer the other part of your question, the former schools wouldn’t know you are adding more.

No, because your application hasn't changed. It was just sent to more schools. Schools can NEVER see the other schools you've applied to during the cycle.
