Would adding a minor make the application to look any better? I was just wondering....

I doubt it. I think you'd just be adding unnecessary work and stress for yourself. Do it if you really want the minor, but I wouldn't do it just with hopes of it enhancing your app.

Spend the time doing well in the pre-reqs and your major, studying for the dat, and taking classes that will better prepare you for success in dental school.

It only helped me to bring it up in interviews. Other then that, it didn't really enchance my application. Even then it was touch and go...some interviews went a minor?! 😱 and others just went okay 🙄 Depends on the interviewer though.

if you have the extra time in undergrad, get a minor in something fun. mine's in cognitive neuroscience(only because the neurosci portion was covered by my bio&chem major classes, and the rest of it was fun psych classes).

usually some sort of concentration in a broader major/field..less credit requirements to fulfill(major is usually like 60+ credits, minor is around 20 or 30 credits). it doesnt really count as anything-it shows up on your transcript like..Major(s):_____________ Minor(s):___________

I see it as a way to concentrate in another area of interest while not having to do all of the credits for another major. It could complement what you're studying or just be totally different. For example, a bio major and chem minor usually complement each other.

When you do minor, do you get a actual seperate diploma that says "Minor in Whatever" or is it just something that you know you've done and you get no proof (besides on transcript) Like i was planning to major in Cell Biology and Minor in Buisness
