I just moved back home and now I am getting ready to submit my AACOMAS application:

I will be volunteering at two hospitals in the area (one of which is an osteopathic hospital) in about 2 weeks and I wasn't sure if I should add these volunteer experiences to the AACOMAS application since right now I do not know what my duties will be and can't really describe the experience on the app.

I have one volunteer experience in my app, but its not an osteopathic hospital which is something i would like to highlight

any thoughts?? thanks so much!!

I wouldn't. A "future opportunity to volunteer" is a pretty weak accolade anyways.

I didn't have any volunteer experiences on my application at all. I'm really not sure that a lot of schools weigh these type of things all that heavily.

Don't add any future stuff. You might have all the intentions in the world to go through with it but the admissions committee doesn't know that. I had 2 events - 1 shadowing and 1 volunteering that I was scheduled to do later in my app year. I didn't include those in the primary app but I talked about them in secondary apps and interviews AFTER I started/completed those events.

You can always add it later. I would submit now, get the verification running (will take you a month...) and then after you start volunteering, you can add it onto your list when you have a more definite answer of your responsibilities.

Do not add things that you have not done yet.

You can add it later after you actually have DONE the experience.

when i input shadowing and volunteering I did not put an end date and mentioned that i hope to continue these throughout the application season, but I was involved in both for 6 months to a year before I applied.
