If I add an LOR after programs have already downloaded my app, should I notify them about the change?

Will they have to go back through my app. to see the new letter, or will they get some kind of "auto. notification" telling them that my file has a new letter available that they can view?

thanks

As a follow-on to greeneclipse's question rather than opening a new thread, what is the process for de-selecting one of your letters and resubmitting a new one?

I understand that this is frowned upon, but I contacted a program specifically about doing just that and they were fine with it (the new letter is from an alum at the program in question). I'd rather not trouble the program with asking the process and it's not clear from ERAS how I de-select one letter and send a new one in its place...

No need. The letter is put into our database, and is flagged for printing (if applications are printed). If your application has already been reviewed and rejected, it's unlikely that this single letter will make a difference. if not, it will be seen when your application is next reviewed.

I think you simply log into MyERAS, bring up your list of applied programs, move to the tab of documents assigned to the program, and uncheck the letter you wish to deactivate and then check the one you want to send.
