adding schools and question about LORs

I already submitted my primary about a month ago and selected University of Alabama, University of South Alabama, University of Louisville, and Wake Forest for my school list, but realized I should probably add more. My stats are: AL resident 3.51cgpa, 3.41sgpa, 10,10,10 M MCAT, good ECs and shadowing, but no research yet (I will be doing a year of research during my senior year) 🙁

I am considering adding these:

NYMC
University of Vermont
OHSU
UW

I just wanted to throw these in there as a "getaway" option, but from my understanding they are all good schools as well. UW's OOS acceptance is quite low, so I was hesitant about this. Should I change this list up? Is it common to receive residency after a year or so?

For the number of LORs is it ok to send in more than the requirement? Many schools only require the committee LOR, but would one more letter do any harm? Also is it advisable to save extra letters for an update? Thanks fellow SDNers!

Any suggestions for "reach" schools? I know this is tough question since most reach schools expect substantial research.
