I dont think I have seen a similar situation yet so I hope you guys can help. I want to turn in the app as soon as possible like everyone one else. My problem is that 1. Im taking summer school right now so if I submitted my transcripts now, I would have to send them again a couple weeks from now; and 2. I am doing research beginning mid July.
So my questions are 1. Is it possible to delay transcript submission and still make it to the early applicant cycle; and 2. Can I add on/contact admissions somehow to tell them I am doing research? Do I go ahead an put this on my app beforehand?

Do not delay submitting transcripts, just deal with updating them during the academic update, it may be annoying but getting your app in sooner is usually better.

As for the impending research, I would put it in beforehand, this way the adcoms will see it with your application first hand. Come interview time (when you'll likely have started or are into your research) they may even ask about it and at that point you'll be happy you included it.

How's your GPA? if it's high and don't need the summer class grade to boost, then there's no point in waiting and just submit ASAP.

If you need it, then no other choice but to wait. Hope that helped.

Regarding research, everyone here's going to tell you different things.
For me, I put on that I'm teaching adjunct, despite I start in Aug and have 0 hours right now - it's really a judgement call. I really wanted adcom to see this so I put it on, b/c I'm already hired. The application is for your whole year! so I don't see why not.

Also, as long as your summer course is under "Planned/In Progress Academic Courses" there will NOT be a hold on your application if the transcript for the summer course is submitted later.
