On OptomCAS, when looking at the School Designations page, next to each designated school, there is a link to add an additional essay. Is this an opportunity to mention additional information about myself or maybe to add another personal statement geared specifically toward that school? Have you guys added an additional essay? If so, what kinds of things did you write about?

Thanks!

do you mean the additional questions section when you apply for NECO and SCCO?

Yes, SCCO and NECO both have an additional questions section, but every school I designated also has an option to Add an Essay.

Hi. You can add specific personalized essays to the schools that you are applying to. If you have one generic essay for all your schools, OptomCAS recommends that you enter the school name as the title of your essay. This way, you will have one essay but with different titles corresponding to each of the schools you are applying to. Hope this helps.

Thanks for explaining it CN2!

Do a lot of people add an additional essay? is it mandatory? Is it fine to just have that 1 generic essay?

Thanks guys!

I would love to know the answer as well. Because I have a generic personal statement but I am not sure what to put under additional essay.

I only wrote one essay, and was accepted everywhere I applied. But I also had strong numbers, so I'm not sure how advisable it is.

I only wrote one generic essay as well and did fine 🙂

Yeah, I did one generic essay, and got admitted to everywhere I applied. GPA and OAT are what count.
