Addressing MCAT Retakes on Secondaries

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I retook the MCAT this year and had a couple of questions as I'm in the process of writing secondaries. For reference, I took the MCAT last year and got a 508 (125/130/124/129). I didn't really study, which was a pretty big mistake on my part, and didn't void either for some reason. I took it again this year and got a 519 (130/131/129/129).
I'm in the process of writing secondaries right now, and some of them say to address academic inconsistencies/struggles so I'm not sure if I should address this there? Also, I am not sure what to say about this if I get asked about it in general, it was kind of just a lapse in judgement and I didn't really have any specific circumstances that led to this.
Also wondering if there's a chance I wouldn't be considered for interview at some schools because of the low first score?

I don’t think retaking an MCAT is a good topic for an academic struggle essay, or that it will affect your application cycle much since you had both scores shown at the time you applied.
If you are ever asked about the retake in an interview simply answer that you knew the first score didn't show what you were capable of

Thanks for the advice! I won't discuss it on the secondaries. Do you know if interviewers usually ask about this kind of stuff?

Always be prepared, but many interviewers don't get to see your metrics.
