  1. Pre-Dental
Hey all, I tried buying the ADEA's guide to dental schools today (from the UCLA bookstore) and found out I had to wait 4-8 weeks. They told me it would also take that long to get it from the website. For those of you who have seen the book, what kinds of info does it have? I was planning on getting LOR, and pre-req info, but I can get that from websites or emailing schools. So I'm just wondering what it can do for me,

thanks guys

Most pre-med/pre-dent advisors have a copy. You should give yours a call and see if they would let you come by and look over it. The book has great info overall, but it's really nothing that you wouldn't find on predents.com (pdizzle freakin rocks) or by doin a little searching on the forums here.

I would think that you would be able to track down much of that info on the school's websites. What the book does do is give you up-to-date info and save you a ton of time searching. Didn't PDizzle put up the info on predents.com? I may be wrong about this. You may also want to check with your schools pre-health advisor. Many times they will have books like this that you can check out.

If I remember correctly, when I ordered that book from the ADEA website last year it took less then two weeks to arrive. It was pretty informative, but like people have already said, much of the information can be gathered from www.predents.com and the school sites themselves.

book is too expensive, $35. show's mostly stats of the schools in a comprehensive and comparable way. you can find the information by the net by going to different schools sites. and sdn can also help!!

I completely forgot about going to my schools career center, you guys are right, they should have it. thanks for all the responses!

As my adoring fans have said, some of the info (the good stuff IMO) is entered into my database at PreDents.com. Not only is it accessible but you can rank the schools by the info (GPA, DAT, # seats, etc) which is kinda cool!

Also, just a heads up. By the end of April, Predents.com will be in full release for the upcoming 2007 cycle. Many of the suggestions I have been getting are either done or in the works. I will be adding other personal stats such as sex and ethnicity. Also, the big thing is being able to switch cycles. You can choose what cycle you are entering data for and viewing. It will automatically remember your last selection and dispaly that cycle every time you go to the website, until you change it. More to come!
