Anyone have any word on the new format this year for part 2 clinical boards. I know each section is scored individually and you can retake one section versus the entire exam but any info would be nice.

Whoa. Nobody have any replies, and honestly I don't know jack about it either. Perhaps my post will bump this thread to the top and invite some other responses.

Honestly I know very, very little about them. "Rumor" has it that NC will adopt them, almost assured to do so for class of 2007 and supposedly a real possibility for our class (2006). I don't believe it until I see it.

What I do know about it: it's about twice the cost of our boards in place now. We would be able to do it during our senior year so we'd be able to graduate with degree AND license in hand. It seems too good to be true. There are a few in my class who post here that know more, maybe when school starts again next week they will reply.

Are you asking about the ADEX licensing exams? If so,I can share some info with you. Just let me know if this is what you ar refering to.

Yes the ADEX licensing exam. Everyone around school is walking around without a clue, instructors included. They appear to be very slow in getting around to giving out info. From what I've gathered its closer to what the NERB website is calling the curriculum integrated format. www.nerb.org
It always makes me feel good when the manual is saying last day to register is in July. Although license in hand by graduation would be very nice.

This is what I understand:

-The NERB and CRDTS have merged to form the ADEX.

-The license will be valid in approx 40 states this year and more next year on. Cali and Fl are naturally not covered.

-The format has been changed for the manequinn part:
1) It can be taken 3 times in your final year.

2)The preps are as follows:
-U central all ceramic
-L cuspid/bicuspid(?) PFM
-L 1st molar all metal

3) No provisional(Yaaaaaa!!!!)

-The clinical part remains the same and can be taken 2 times in your final year.

-They may ask for some extra training if you cannot clear it at the end of 3 and 2 attempts respectively.

-The main advantages are:

1) More states covered

2) License on the day you graduate

-The cost will probably be higher. I believe it is 1400$ for the 2 sections for the first attempt.

Any one who knows anything more or something other than what I have said, please do write in.

Hope this helps.
