I am finally starting to realize that I might have ADD/ADHD. My friends have always told me to get diagnosed, but I have usually brushed it off. As a professional student, I am starting to realize that this problem is significantly impacting my life, and my family urges me to get diagnosed. What will be the impact of this diagnosis on my future career as a doctor if I decide to get diagnosed?

Seems like it would be pretty unethical to allow health records to affect a person's career given that they have acceptable performance.

Why would anyone know? I doubt that anyone would care, but they especially won't if you keep it to yourself.

It won't impact you. In general, the psych-type diagnoses that can make it difficult to get a license would be major depression disorder or bipolar disorder. If your friends/family notice ADD/ADHD symptoms, you should probably see someone.

Thanks for your responses. i was always in denial about it, since this is how I have always been. But medical school has shown that in comparison to my peers, I definitely have a problem. Hopefully, I can get help with this without being labeled and having an impact on my future as a doctor with this diagnosis.
