Is adiabatic and isothermal process mutually exclusive process? If so, why is that?

Isothermal involves either pumping heat energy out or into the system while maintaining the same temperature. Adiabatic involves either raising or lowering the temperature without any heat energy gained or lost.

Yes, they are mutually exclusive.
