Hi,
I am a BDS from University of Calcutta. Presently I am in US on a H4 visa.
I have a score of 80 in NDBE Part 1 and have TOEFL score of 243.
What are my admission chances and what colleges do I have a chance for DDS admission.
I have been also thinking if I should apply for a Speciality like Endodontics, but is there any future in terms of job if someone has a combination like BDS from Calcutta and then a 2 years Masters in say Endodontics from a US university. How can one get license in that sceanrio in US. Please answer...

If you are thinking about doing a 2 year program in Endodontics, think again because Endo is a very competitive specialty right now in the USA. You really need a 90+ on the Part I for serious consideration for Endo program. Getting accepted with an 80 is quite an unlikely scenario.

There are some states that allow foreign dentists to practice if you have completed a specialty program in the USA. Read the FAQ threads at the top of the International Dental forum for more info; those threads have the answers to most of your questions.

Hi Griffin,
Thanks for your response. My understanding from reading various websites for TUfts, BU etc was that, to apply for speciality course they do not consider the NDBE scores. For example if I apply for speciality in Endo or Prostho or Perio and as I am a foreign national so they do not need NDBE but only TOEFL is needed.
Then what are the basis on which they select and what are my job chnaces after the specilaty programme.
