Hello. I wanted to ask you, pharmacy students, whether or not adcoms look favorably on applicants who send letters of intent/interest after he or she has been placed on hold or waitlisted. Would you recommend applicants to send letters of intent/interest? Is it common to do so in pharmacy school admissions?

It is not common and I would not recommend doing it. Most likely, it will never been seen by the adcoms anyway.

Letter of intent is another way of begging. I guess schools have many things to finish before they are interested in reading such a letter. If they waitlist you, the best thing you can do is ask them the reasons so you can improve yourself for the next school or next year.

Schools already know you're interested, you applied and interviewed, didn't you? Also, you can't send a letter of "intent" without being accepted, you can't intend to go somewhere without an acceptance.

So letters of intent/interest are not only uncommon and won't be seen by adcoms like CUBeav says, they're redundant and out of place.

For pharmacy school admissions? No, don't waste your time. Just send whatever they require for their packets.

For pharmacy practice residencies? Yes, then you'll have to send one to each place (unless they specifically say not to).

No - its a nice thing to do - but it will not effect the ADCOM's decision.
