This statement describes specific uses of personal information as it pertains to AMCAS applicants and medical students. The AAMC disseminates application information to medical schools to which you have applied. The AAMC also shares acceptance information across schools in order to assist medical schools adherence to AAMC recommendations. This acceptance data is shared as follows:
Beginning in February of each year, a medical school that has accepted an applicant can view the other school or schools that have accepted the applicant, if applicable.
Beginning in April of each year, a medical school can view the school or schools that have accepted an applicant, even if that applicant has not yet been accepted by the medical school.
Yes, eventually. Here's the info from the instruction manual

So should you withdraw from the schools by april? Or can you hold onto a few acceptances until may in order to best figure out which financial package you want

You have the right to hold as many acceptances as you please until May 15 when you must drop all but one. At that time, you may continue to be on as many waitlists as you please but if you don't like a school as much as the school you've already received an offer from, please be courteous and withdraw from that waitlist.
What does the last part mean?..... the applicant isn't yet accepted or nor yet alerted?

Thanks Ms. LizzyM. So do you know when schools typically offer scholarships to attract students? Also, is there anyway to figure out our odds of acceptance off the waitlist? (I am absolutely dying to go to any of my three dream schools). My deference goes to you, as always.
I think that some schools might offer merit scholarships when they make the offer of admission. Obviously, need based aid comes out after you submit your financial aid application after the first of the year.
Deans of admission don't even know how a season is going to play out and if anyone is going to get in off the waitlist or not. Some years it seems like 1/3 of the class comes in off the waitlist and other years it is 1% of the class.
