I hope you're all doing well as we approach the end of interview season and finalize our rank lists. I wanted to humbly share a disheartening experience and see if others have faced something similar. During a Zoom interview with a top program, I waited nearly 2.5 hours with no faculty present. The coordinator responded only after an hour, saying that the faculties were busy and asked to reschedule. But then left me waiting again without further contact. Coordinator appeared logged in but was unresponsive. It wasn’t just frustrating, it disrupted patient care, forced me to change out of scrubs multiple times, and felt like a deep lack of respect, especially from an institution that teaches these very values. I understand that things come up, but our profession relies on communication, professionalism, and honoring one another’s time.

As we step into roles with greater responsibility, values like punctuality, empathy, and professionalism aren't just ideals; they’re foundation to building trust and delivering safe, high-quality care.

I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts as we all move forward in this journey together.
