Advanced/Prelim scheduling advice

If you would like to do a preliminary year residency in the same place as your advanced rad onc residency, is it appropriate to ask for a preliminary interview if you have been offered a rad onc interview? How would one go about getting and trying to schedule a preliminary interview around the same time as the advanced rad onc interview so as to avoid two separate trips to the same institution? Any thoughts on this?
