Advanced vs Categorical

Though I thought I understood the definition of the two, I came across something while selecting some programs on ERAS that confused me. My belief was that (assuming 4 year specialty field):
- Advanced = PGYY2-PGY4 positions and you have to find your own preliminary year
- Categorical = All 4 years done at the same site (prelim + advanced position)

However, I ran across one program that stated this "PGY2-PGY4 (Categorical)". It confused me because my understanding was that this is advanced. Can anyone clear this up?
