Advantage to Applying early? amcas or secondaries?

What is the advantage to applying early? Isnt it more important when you get secondaries in? Or do secondaries depend on getting amcas in early? How should a CA resident applying to ~25 schools prioritize his/her secondaries? Thanks!

You answered your first question. And to answer the second, once the bittersweet bombardment of secondaries hits you, you will naturally prioritize by first writing essays for the schools you truly want to go to. Don't be suprised if you discover that the cost of a secondary application sometimes outweighs the effort of writing an essay for a school you really didn't want to go to in the first place.
