Hey, I know everyone's probably sick of these kinds of threads but I'm hoping to get some general advice about getting an Ophthalmology residency... i.e., what is considered a competitive Step 1 score, are there any programs which don't seem to place a huge emphasis on research (I'm interested in research but I've not done any up until now and I'm not sure that I could do anything research-wise soon enough to be of great help). I know the average Step 1 for those who matched this year was 230... but in terms of matching to a good program (not super stellar/top tier but still a solid program) what is competitive? I'm just trying to get a feel for what I need to be thinking about this year to help myself match into Ophtho. Thanks-
