Hey all, I'm wondering what would constitute a solid improvement to warrant a 3rd attempt. Stats so far to get a better picture

ORM
cGPA 3.3
sGPA 3.1
SMP 3.9 (all A's except 1 B in a non-science discussion based class)

1st mcat 26 (8/9/9)
2nd mcat 503 (126/124/125/128)

MD/DO/PA shadowing- 100 hours w/ various specialties
300+ hours clinical
100+ hours non-clinical
1 year research, 2 posters, no pub

Would I be competitive for DO with my current stats?

I'm applying MD/DO so my goal is for 510+, but I'm concerned whether scoring in the 507 range would be taken as negative since this is my third attempt.

Also, would a 3rd retake with a similar score (500-503) absolutely kill my chances for DO?

Any input is appreciated, thanks.

MD is going to be difficult even if you hit a 510. Apply broadly to DO and you should be fine

Forget MD, you would literally have to blow the MCAT out of the water to have a chance with 3 takes. I just don't see that happening with your two scores. Just apply broadly to DO and you will have interviews

Kill? No.
Limit? Yes.

Thanks for all the responses.

What is your opinion on increasing my mcat from 503 --> 508, would this be significant in improving my application? Or would it be marginal at best? Thanks.

You'll be more competitive, but CAN you go to 508??????

Thanks for all the responses.
