Members-of-the-SDN-Blog:

Greetings.

The-reason-of-this-post-is-to-have-some-advice-from-experienced-medical-students.
I-am-a-1st-year-M.D.-student-at-Ross-University-School-of-Medicine-(RUSM)-and-I-want-some-advice-with-the-purpose-of-having-good-probabilities-of-success-while-entering-this-Fall-2015.

Personally,-I-am-from-Puerto-Rico-and-I-am-not-the-kind-of-undergraduate-student-that-had-have-a-soft-way-to-gain-a-B.S.-(lot-of-economic-struggles-and-lack-of-personal-space-at-home...if-we-can-call-it-in-that-way).

This-time-I-have-plenty-of-space-at-the-island-and-economic-liquidity-and-I-want-to-give-100%-of-myself-at-this-new-adventure.But-I-know-that-working-hard-is-not-enough...Working-hard+In-the-correct-way-can-be-a-good-equation-for-success...
So-the-question-is:"Any-advice-about-study-techniques-and-habits-that-fit-in-the-equation-above?"

I-have-a-Princeton-USMLE-I-Review-Book-it-seems-to-be-very-comprehensive...Pre-studying-is-a-good-approach-to-have-a-better-grasp-of-the-Semester-I-material?

Thanks-in-advance;

Best-Regards;

While i'm 85% sure this is a troll post....

Focus on learning and understanding the material in class. Use USMLE First Aid and Pathoma along with classes. Dont need to do USMLE studying during 1st year.

p.s. Learn to not use "-" after every word.

Thanks-for-your-answer...My-bad-about-the-lines-the-space-bar-of-my-laptop-is-broken.

So-doing-pre-studying-is-not-a-useful-idea?

is your search function broken too

I-did-my-research...The-reason-of-doing-this-is-to-read-different-kinds-of-opinion-about-the-same-topic...so-your-trolling-thing-is-not-necessary-here.

P.S.:The-spacebar-of-my-laptop-is-broken...

There are already 5000 threads pertaining to this. It's asked every week.

And if you had read such threads you would know pre-studying is not worthwhile.

My first stop would be to buy a new laptop. You know, with the "economic liquidity" and everything!

Actually, Caribbean schools are notoriously well-known for designing the curriculum specifically for step 1. It wouldn't be a bad idea for OP to use First Aid during first year, but Pathoma should be saved for pathology block.

@Dr.Clutch Your economical investment at this time is to get a new working laptop. Don't pre-study. Good luck. You will need it.

Go to the condado area hit up one of the casinos and put all of your tuition money on red at a roulette table. Better chance of that than matching.
