I'm an MS3 currently scheduled for an away rotation in Pediatric Radiology at the University of Chicago (August), and am looking for advice regarding preparation. I will have completed a 4-week career elective in radiology at my home institution before I begin my away rotation.
I currently have Squires (haven't read much of it yet, unfortunately, as I am still on Internal Medicine), and recently purchased Radiology Recall. I would greatly appreciate any advice about preparation for my away rotation in pediatric radiology (and do you think it would be better to switch to a diagnostic radiology rotation instead?)

Thanks

I did an away at UofC and ended up matching there. PM if you'd like more specifics on a general rotation.

Use Pediatric Radiology by Donnelly. It is a great Peds Rads textbook and will serve you well even in Rads Residency should you match.

Also, here is a great website you can sign up to use that has teaching files for Peds Radiology. I used it during a Peds Rads Rotation during internship and will probably go through the cases again during Rads Residency. The nice thing is it has little post tests and keeps track of the modules you have completed so at the end you can print a transcript so to speak and it shows you more or less went through the modules and learned....

Good Luck.

23 more days 'till end of Internship and Rads Residency starts 7/3/06!!!

YEAHHHHHHH!!!

Thanks to the above posts for great advice!
I've modified my elective schedule so that I have 2 weeks of pediatric radiology and 2 weeks of bone/orthopedic radiology.

I'll look into the books recommended for Peds Rads and also Helms Fundamentals of bone radiology. Hopefully everything will work out well.
