What can a high school rising senior do now and in the future to prepare for vet school? Thanks in advance.

Consider UNH (University of New Hampshire); They have a program that will allow you to skip your senior year of undergrad and go straight to vet school! Also, their freshmen classes include things like "running a veterinary practice."
