Hi all,
It seems from recent posts that several of you Ph.D. (or Psy D) candidates have experiences juggling relationship and school. I'm starting this thread in hopes of getting some advice from all of you wise people who have been going through demanding programs with a significant other. My BF of 4 years will be moving with me this summer to where I am starting a PhD program in clinical. He's right now finishing up a MA and will be looking for a new job after we move.
So what I am asking is, any advice on issues I should forsee that can challenge our relationship? We are both very motivated to make it work, and he realizes the amount of time I will be devoting to school, but obviously we are not aware of the reality of it just yet. Any advice would be greatly welcomed. I know that this is going to be a challenge, but I want to be as prepared as one can be. 🙂
