i have a couple of interviews coming up in the next few weeks, and was wondering if any current students could give me some advice. should i be reading up in dental journals, or should i just have a grasp on the field in general. also, one interview is in a group format and I was wondering if any had any suggestions on those.
anything is welcomed, thanks

Hi Starbury, I'll just give you a piece of advice that was repeated to me several times at all my interviews (I just had 3 in the past month and they all went very well, infact I've already accepted a spot at one); interviews basically serve to see if you'll be a good "fit" for the pgm, so it's about ur personality mostly. ur academics have already been verified, if u werent qualified they wouldnt have invited u, so its not about what u know. just be urself and let ur desire for whatever it is ur interviewing for show. if u want, read up on articles and stuff so u can talk about the subject if it comes up, but make sure its something ur familiar with. ppl can tell if u've always kept up with current affairs/research or if u justc crammed the night/week before to impress. bottom line, if i had to choose 2 traits to take into an interview, articulate/eloquence (not what you say, but HOW u say it, and compassion (beleive it or not, that still is the reason we all got into this profession) I saw lots of ppl faking and saying what the interviewer wanted to hear (this was in a group interview) just so they could get in, this is not good. be urself, and the pgm thats meant for you will seek u out. good luck! 😎
