Hello everyone,

I applied to about 45 M.D. schools for the 2018-19 cycle and, so far, have only received one interview invitation at a school I was later rejected from. I'm thinking I may have to reapply to medical school next year. Although I'm waiting to hear back from 7 schools, I understand that the odds of receiving an II in February are much lower. I'd appreciate your guys' thoughts on ways I could improve my application to have better luck in the future

509 MCAT (128 chemistry/physical sciences, 126 critical analysis, 125 biology, 130 psychology/sociology)
3.78 GPA
White
About 50 hours of physician shadowing
5 months of research experience
380 Medical related volunteer hours (includes high school)
About 130 non-medical volunteer hours

Is there anything striking that I should improve upon? I'm not sure if retaking the MCAT would be a good idea or not. Right now I'm thinking of working as a scribe during a gap year. Thanks for the advice!

When were you complete? Your #s are good enough, MCAT and GPA. What schools did you apply to? SDN is a good place to consult for school lists.

45 schools implies an unrealistic list.

What was your school list?

When were you complete?
What is your state of residence?

I wonder if submitting 45 secondaries caused the quality of them all to become low enough to warrant a reject.

Did you apply to any DO schools? Where did you apply! Could you expand on your activities a bit? It’s hard to respond when we know very little about your application.
