Hi guys,

I just joined this site, so I'm pretty new to everything. I had a question I was hoping someone could help me with. I plan on taking Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 this summer, and I was wondering if anyone had advice on when I should take my DAT? I wanted to try and take it after I finished Organic in August sometime. However I'm worried I won't have as much time to study for it in the summer. I recently graduated Dental Hygiene school, and I am now trying to get into Dental school. I have enough hours that I am a senior, but I'm lacking just a few classes for Dental school that's why I wanted to apply by this next fall. My current GPA is 3.66, but I had a 4.0 through Dental hygiene school and was involved in a lot of other dental volunteer work.

What date will you be done with Orgo 2?
If you look at a lot of the breakdowns (check out "DAT Elisse'" thread) here you will see that most people studied full-time for many weeks. As long as you have X amount of weeks to study you should be fine to take the DAT the end of August. Be sure to get most of your application and letters of rec done before you get busy with studying.

I will be done by August 6th. I'm planing on studying over this Christmas break a lot since I can't study as much during the summer and studying through Spring Semester. Thanks for you help! 🙂
