Hey everyone,

I need some advice on what to do next. Lat semester I asked my Organic teacher for a recommendation. My school does not have a comittee but instead uses two science and one non-science teacher rec's in a packet. My packet will not be sent out until all 3 letters are in. I have 2 in and am wating for this last teacher, my organic teacher. He is known to procrastonate and I have reminded him a couple of times this summer. He keeps telling me to wait another week, etc. I emailed him at the beginning of this week and I haven't gotten a response.

I am not a science major so I have no more science classes left. I took Ecology this past summer and could maybe ask that teacher for a rec. I don't know if that guy's will be as good though. My application was mailed out August 4th and this is the only part of my aplication not complete.

Should I hold out on my Organic teacher for a little longer or should I go ahead and ask my Ecology teacher and just use whichever gets in first?

Thanks for reading.

if you are pretty close with the organic teacher just wait a little bit more. But if you think the quality of the letter will be similar between your orgo prof and ecology prof it really doesn't matter who you get it from.

Make sure you have the prof writing your letter to include your personal characteristics. My bio prof asked me to write a page about describing myself to help him make the letter more personable. If you do something like that, it could make it easier for your orgo prof to write your letter.

good luck

oh btw, make sure you check with your specific schools since not all schools LOR requirements are same. some do require 3 science letters.
