- I am taking my MCAT late on June 15th for a few reasons. Is there any sense in applying early if I'm out of state without an MCAT score? With this be beneficial or not? I'd appreciate any advice you have for me..Thanks!
Of course, you can work on your application starting May 1 and get all your transcripts and letters sent in. It does take time to enter all the information and write your essays. Save it all on TMDSAS but don't hit "Submit" until you see that MCAT score. Good luck!Does it help to get the ball rolling early though? Any benefit to doing this?

I'm a Texas applicant who re-applied. During both application cycles I submitted my primary app before my MCAT score was released (I retook). I cannot speak about the differences between an OOS student and IS student in regards to timing, but I got interviews both cycles after take the MCAT on May 21 (round one) and July 21 (round two). As always, the sooner the better, but interviews don't start until the beginning of August. If you submit your primary, take your MCAT, and then pre-write all secondaries (although three Texas schools don't require them) while you wait for your score and finalization of everything you might be alright. But it's a risk if your score isn't competitive, as I imagine the expectation is a little higher for OOS students.
Good luck on your test, and your decision 🙂

Good point! But don't interrupt your MCAT studying to work on your application! MCAT is Job 1. You'll have plenty of time after you take it but before it's scored to complete the application.
