Hi,

does anyone have any advice for my njms interview this week? Any insiders knowledge about their applicant pool and what I should expect during the interview would be helpful. It's my 2nd time applying here so I am already somewhat familiar with faculty and students. One of my friends is a first year.
Just getting really nervous because I'd really like to go here over the other schools I've applied to.

I have heard that the interviews at NJMS are not stressful...just have positive thinking (be optimistic about wutever u did and wutever u will be doing)

you should prolly ask your friend more about it since he is an MS1 there.

if you already applied there once before you should be ok. you know the process and should have met some of the applicants they like to invite.

im sure you have already checked out the interview feedback here on sdn to see what this years interviews are like and their comments. you could look up on mdapplicants.com to see a small sample of what types of kids have been applying to njms.

but since this is your 2nd time...i think you'll be fine.

my interview was not stressful in anyway. The guy who interviewed me told me from the very beginning to relax and that we would just have a nice conversation. all my other friends who applied there also said they had a very positive interview experience.

the only advice i would give, which i think is obvious but it still came up in the interview, is to be honest. dont try to make yourself sound better/more interesting than you are. my interviewer asked me what i like to do for fun and i told him a few things...and then he asked me if i read a lot of books and i told him that unfortunately i was never big on reading books and that i usually only read newspapers on a regular basis.

he said he liked my honesty because a lot of times people say they love to read and read tons of books and then they have to explain why they have awful verbal scores on tests. my verbal score was my weakest section by far on the mcats, so i guess he wanted to see if i would confess to not reading a lot.

anyway, it was not a stressful experience at all and the hour and a half flew by. I'm sure you'll do great! good luck!

I was interviewed at NJ med in September, and I thought that it was very laid-back and relaxed. The interviewer essentially spent the whole time telling me how great NJMS is and why I should go there. I wouldn't stress; just relax and be yourself. If anything, try and slip in reasons for why you want to go there - they're definetely big on accepting people who actually want to be there.

Good luck!!
