So I have several life events that strongly steered me to wanting to pursue a career in medicine. I plan to express what happened, how it affected my views, and why that inspired me to pursue a career in medicine. It will be the truth, no embellishments.
But I read that your personal statement should address you weaknesses. I have everything on my application okay, but my science GPA is a bit low (depending on how good or bad I do this semester it could be 3.4 or 3.5).
Should I really address the true reasons why I got a few B's and a C? It just seems to random to talk about life changing events, and then be like, by the way, I got a C in Ochem 2. Do I have to address these few bumpy grades? I mean, my parents getting a divorce, and feeling alienated from my family did all occur in the semester I did poorly, but I don't want to make excuses. I just want to focus on why I want to be a doctor.
Do you have to explain grade weaknesses? I much rather talk about my weakness being I care too much, which sounds generic, but is true.
