I need advice!!!
I am currently in my 3rd year in college. I was in a 7 year joint optometry program with SUNY optometry school. I had all the requirements I needed except that my OAT scores were not good enough for them after two attempts of trying. The two lowest scores I got were 280 on QR and a 300 for reading comp for the second attempt. I got rejected from the program and they requested that I take the OAT the third time. After being rejected from the program, I applied to Salus University. I was placed on the waiting list but a few days ago I got accepted to attend this fall semester. Should I give up my bachelor’s degree and go to optometry school this fall? Or, should I attend my college for another year, get my degree, take the OAT a third time this summer, and apply to both schools again??? It would mean a lot if anyone can give me some feedback on how I should go about this situation.
Thanks a lot!

To be honest if your long-term goal is be an optometrist, go to Salus. This is an opportunity that people would kill for because you save time and money. Salus is great... go and never look back. In the end of the day, bachelor's degree or not, you will be working towards your long-term career.

Hope to see you in the fall!

Absolutely go now. The amount of income that you will make with one extra year being an OD will likely outpace the difference in tuition.

Going back for your last year also providers you no guarantee that you will be admitted next year. If you have an opportunity to now, then definately go.
