Hey guys,

I'm deciding between taking the July 13th exam or July 26th exam. I want to apply this cycle. I understand that the primary is available June 1st and I will submit it that day and then secondaries come rolling in. I plan on taking the MCAT on either one of those days, and finishing up the secondaries during that month where I wait for my MCAT score to be uploaded.

I understand that both dates aren't early, but if I submit my app in the way I'm describing how late would the July 13th or July 26th exam be. That would mean I would be complete August 13th or August 26th correct? Would August 26th be late? I know it's not early, but is it a regular medium time period to submit

I posted this in the MCAT forum, but didn't get much solid info, sorry about posting it here, and if it's against the rules, delete or move the thread. I just need to register soon. Thanks and sorry

I'm no expert because my MCAT was completed way before I submitted my primary, but what is the reason for holding off till the 26th? Since you're already taking it in July, I would want to pick the earliest date that I possibly could if there isn't some other reason that's holding you back.

Secondaries do not roll in immediately after submitting your primary. Your primary must be verified before it is sent out to schools, and it takes 6+ weeks for verification. You will get secondaries only after your primary has been verified. Lastly, schools that screen for secondaries will not give you a secondary until they have your MCAT score. You might not get some secondaries until you get your MCAT score in August, and August is hella late.

I wouldn't say August is late if your primary was already verified. If you haven't submitted the primary, then you would be "hella late."

That being said, you won't be early but you won't be late.

Personally, I would go for the earlier date in July.

Sounds good guys. Those extra two weeks are just for extra studying.
