Hey guys, I've only been to two interviews and got into both (Case and UPenn). Touring Case facilities was nice, UPenn's famous "dungeon" was quite scary hah but people at both schools seemed to be friendly. anyone know if both schools have an equally diverse student body?
at this moment, i'm just looking to be a general dentist
philly is a nicer city but i've heard of safety issues around the campus? apparently case has similar safety issues too though, so they're about even in that respect. the distance & tuition factors are not too different i think, since i'm coming from toronto. also no scholarships from either school hehe
i've heard case is easy-going, you get your own chair, your patients are conveniently booked for you, electronic patient charting..
does upenn have all these things as well? i just remember that on my tour at upenn, the student guide pointed out that they wished the school would teach rotary endo, which is important these days..
this may seem a little silly but a slight plus for case is that they consistently have long summer breaks haha - may/june/july - whereas upenn seems to have 2 months off after 1st year and only 1 month off after 2nd and 3rd years...is that common in other dental schools as well?? or is upenn the only slave driver? lol
i'd really like to hear more pros about upenn but the only one i've heard of is the 'reputation' ..are there any other factors i may not be aware of or may be missing?? i'm trying to really think through my decision. any help would be very much appreciated! thank you =]
