Advice Needed Please (GPA, DAT, EC)

Hello Fello Pre Dents
I am a little bit worried about my stats for next years app cycle. My GPA is low at a 3.1 and my DAT scores are 19AA/20TS/19PAT. I am doing better this semester and will work hard next sem to try and boost my GPA before next app cycle. My top choices for dental school are ASDOH, Case, Midwestern, and Temple. As for my EC I volunteer every week at a dental clinic for homeless people where I help assist for the D4 students from the dental school. I am a little stuck with what else I should do to make my app stronger to make up for the low GPA. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Welcome to SDN,
Your situation isn't as bad as you think it is. Just finish your year strong and if you have the time definitely retake the DAT and get your scores 20+. If you have any scores lower than 17 you might want to bring that up.

Your EC looks great but don't forget the shadowing hours. Lastly, if plan A fails there is always a plan B, which could be a one year masters, but let's not worry about that right now and focus on the present. Good luck.
