Advice Needed: Where did you live you're first year?

I'm coming from out of state to go to Ohio State next year. I'm not going to know anyone or anything. I have a ton of decisions to make. Can anyone help with them?

Should I live on or off campus?

Live in a single or with random roommates?

Join a dental fraternity?

Try living on campus your first year. Starting off in dental school is a big adjustment, you'll likely be spending late nights at lab working on stuff, so the last thing you'll want to worry about is how to get home.

Is it safe? I remember some people saying that the area near the school is not the safest. Any reports of break ins within the last year in the area?
