How do you know you will encounter the pulp? Did you pulp test the tooth? What were the results?

Radiographically, the decay extends into the pulp space. And yes the tooth tested vital via cold testing. I also used the EPT and the value was 65.

When you say vital via cold testing, the duration was WNL? Then this doesn't sound like an RCT. Plan for an exposure and assess the pulp vitality visually. Pulp cap if appropriate.

The radiograph you are looking at is a two dimensional image so you can’t know the decay is into the pulp just based off the image. What are the symptoms?
